In this Data & AI Edge interview, Mirvac’s Ranjani Vaidya shares how aligning data with business value is driving sustainable digital maturity.
Ranjani Vaidya, General Manager of Digital Portfolio and Enterprise Data Solutions at Mirvac, leads the company’s digital strategy and enterprise data initiatives.
She shared how Mirvac is aligning its digital maturity journey with clear business value, positioning data not as a back-end function but as a strategic enabler across the organisation.
With a background in business transformation, Ranjani emphasised that data must serve overarching organisational goals.
At Mirvac, digital initiatives start by identifying real business pain points and then applying technology in response, not the other way around.
To support this shift, Mirvac has structured its digital maturity program around four core pillars, including organisational design and increased digital awareness.
A key focus is upskilling across the business, not just within IT.
Tools like LinkedIn Learning and pilot programs for platforms such as Microsoft Copilot are part of a deliberate approach.
For instance, a small champion team is tasked with identifying 1,000 potential Copilot use cases before broader rollout, ensuring value before scale.
Mirvac also brings in cross-industry expertise to fast-track insights, particularly from more digitally advanced sectors.
While acknowledging that Mirvac cannot compete with the tech capacity of companies like Netflix, Ranjani described a two-speed strategy: maintaining critical services while steadily driving innovation.
Building business trust and partnering on use cases has helped position the digital team as a core driver of enterprise value.

- Cross-sector talent and upskilling – Digital maturity is accelerated through external hiring, LinkedIn Learning, and an internal AI Centre of Excellence to build broad organisational literacy.
