It is no longer about capacity or cost – it is all about the data and what you’re doing with it.”

Mark Dickerson

VP Infrastructure Engineering at Nike

Mark is the owner of key tech infrastructure and services that globally power Nike.
In a rare position of owning all cloud as well as on prem infrastructure – with a global team of 250 engineers – Mark partners closely with Nike’s Global Tech Domains to enable business strategy and drive championship-level experiences for all internal and external customers.
This means he balances critical infrastructure consolidation, security and scale, while managing legacy and cloud services. His teams then harnesses the latest in automation and AI, to drive toward a 50% digital sales target; while improving instore experience, using AR/VR to enable omnichannel innovations, and even Nike’s first robotic drone delivery.
After 10 years process and network engineering and flying helicopters for the US Marines, Mark’s lengthy career has spanned “30 years of lions scars” from several transformations in data centre, facilities, ecommerce, network and multi-cloud roles across the service provider, defence, entertainment and retail sectors.
