About ADAPT

Working with over 3,000 C-level executives from Australia and New Zealand annually, ADAPT is a market-leading Research, Advisory & Multi-Channel Events company in the region.

Our vision is to make Australia & New Zealand more commercially competitive, differentiated, and productive on the global stage. We do this by working closely with business and technology leaders across enterprise and government organisations- equipping them with the knowledge, relationships, inspiration and tools they need to gain an advantage.

The Opportunity

ADAPT is seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to help build and evolve our customer-facing digital platforms, spanning our corporate marketing website, event microsites, and our Research and Advisory membership portal. This is a hands-on role for someone who can execute confidently in WordPress, shape user experience, and guide the team on what WordPress can and cannot do as we continue to scale a platform that blends content delivery with SaaS style product logic.

This is a fully remote offshore role based in Southeast Asia, reporting to our Sydney office.

You will work closely with marketing, design, product, and technical stakeholders, contributing to build quality, UX recommendations, and scalable front-end and platform improvements.

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ADAPT’s three core platforms:

  • Corporate marketing website
  • Event microsites, WordPress Multisite
  • Research and Advisory membership portal, WordPress, membership and gated content experiences

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive, accessible experiences across ADAPT web properties
  • Build and extend WordPress themes, plugins, and custom components using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Customise membership experiences, including contextual UX by user profile and access rules, for Research and Advisory clients
  • Integrate web platforms with APIs, third-party tools, and business systems, including CRM and marketing workflows
  • Implement structured data capture for user interactions and behavioural tracking to support analytics and optimisation
  • Optimise performance, page speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, and reliability across environments
  • Support deployment workflows, code reviews, documentation, and front-end best practices
  • Maintain platform hygiene, updates, backups, and security practices across all web properties
  • Support rapid deployment of event microsites and ongoing improvements to templates and shared components

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong WordPress development experience, including custom themes and custom plugins.
  • Comfortable with page builders (Elementor, ACF) but not dependent on them.
  • Solid PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Experience building custom sites from scratch, not just working inside page builders
  • Experience with membership tooling, Memberpress or similar, including gated content logic and role-based experiences
  • Experience with WordPress Multisite and reusable site patterns for faster rollout
  • Experience working with APIs and external integrations
  • Familiarity with Git and practical deployment workflows
  • Strong grasp of front-end performance, accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser standards
  • Experience managing or collaborating on hosting environments and understanding deployment, configuration, and uptime basics
  • Figma handoff: You can read a design file and build it accurately
  • Implement animations and modern front-end interactions: CSS animations, scroll-triggered effects, GSAP.

What Will Set You Apart

  • REST API integrations, webhooks, and automation patterns for platform-to-platform workflows.
  • Identify UX improvements and propose solutions that balance user needs, performance, and WordPress constraints.
  • CRM integration experience, HubSpot and Salesforce exposure is a plus
  • Analytics implementation experience, event tracking, data layers, and structured behavioural data capture
  • Familiarity with React, Next.js, or modern front-end patterns used in WordPress.
  • Experience with Core Web Vitals optimisation, CDN configuration, caching strategies, and performance tooling
  • Strong security awareness, OWASP basics, WordPress hardening, and secure plugin and theme practices
  • Experience thinking about scalable architecture and platform evolution, including headless or composable approaches when appropriate

Success in the Role

  • ADAPT’s web platforms are fast, stable, accessible, and easy to evolve
  • Member experiences in the Research and Advisory portal feel contextual, intuitive, and aligned to user profiles and entitlements
  • Integrations between web platforms and core systems are reliable and measurable, with clean tracking of user interactions
  • Event microsites launch quickly with consistent quality and minimal rework
  • The team benefits from clear technical guidance on WordPress capability boundaries, with recommendations that improve UX and reduce long term complexity.
