Scott Harrell

Intent Based Networking at Cisco


Scott Harrell is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Intent Based Networking Group. He leads a global team and is responsible for all aspects of the enterprise and data centre networking business, including business strategy, product development, user experience, and
go-to-market. The portfolio consists of the industry’s leading software solutions that span the campus, access, IoT, data centre, cloud, and wide area networks and a range of routers, controllers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.

Since joining Cisco in 2001, Harrell has held leadership roles in product management and engineering in Cisco’s Networking and Security businesses where he has helped define and build technology portfolios to meet the rapidly evolving demands of digital businesses.

Most recently, Harrell led the Enterprise Networking business for Cisco where he drove the transition of this massive business to a software led business model focused on automation and analytics. Prior to that, Harrell led product management for the security business where he helped transform Cisco’s world-class security portfolio to a cloud first strategy. In these roles, he was also responsible for product strategy and the successful integration of acquisitions.

Prior to Cisco, Harrell worked in strategic planning at Intel Corporation. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
