Asanga Wanigatunga

Asanga Wanigatunga is the Regional Vice President for the ANZ region at Snyk based out of Sydney. He leads the ANZ region and is responsible for growing Snyk’s business including establishing key routes to market. Snyk has seen significant growth in the ANZ region and in this role, Asanga will further spearhead the adoption of Snyk’s Cloud Native Application Security platform by ensuring that enterprises of all sizes are able to secure their application development processes.

Asanga’s most recent prior positions were serving as the Vice President for Cloud & Service Providers for the APJ region for Veeam Software for 3.5 years where he build up the business in the region across all key markets. Prior to that he served as the director for end-user computing cloud services for APJ at VMware where he spent the last three years developing the end-user computing cloud ecosystem across the region with service providers and telecommunications companies.

He successfully grew this line of business at a rate of more than 130 percent year-on-year and was instrumental in constructing cloud-led multi-million-dollar competitive bids with system integrators and system outsourcers (SISOs) and mobile operators in the region. His tenures at VMware lasted seven years and prior to that, he was a technology specialist for endpoint management at Symantec. Asanga holds a Bachelors of Computer Science.
