Purnima Padmanabhan

Purnima Padmanabhan heads the worldwide team responsible for building cloud management products and services. Her team’s goal is to deliver a competitive advantage to businesses by increasing agility of operations across private, public and multi-cloud environments.

Purnima has had extensive experience in building and successfully launching innovative products in the fields of cloud infrastructure, security, and enterprise mobility. Prior to joining VMware, she was CEO of Cavirin, a cloud security company, where she drove a turnaround and positioned the company for growth in a high-velocity segment.

Prior to that, Purnima served as the COO of MokaFive, a desktop virtualization company, where she was responsible for global product operations.

She has also held various strategy, marketing, and product roles at BMC, Marimba (acquired by BMC), Loudcloud (acquired by EDS/HP) and McKinsey. Purnima holds an MBA from Stanford University, a Master’s in Computer Engineering from University of Southern California and bachelor’s in computer engineering and Classical Music from Rajasthan, India.
