Mitch Simon

Mitch is the CTO for Energy and Utilities at IBM with extensive experience working with utilities globally. Mitch advises and guides clients on best practices on applying IoT, data, AI and analytics techniques for use cases that solve pressing business problems, increase worker safety or that drive operational efficiencies across customer, network/grid operations, reliability and maintenance and more recently expanding knowledge in resiliency, sustainability and risk management. His expertise is in transmission and distribution, along with working and growing knowledge in thermal and renewable generation.

Mitch is an active participant in the industry including regular attendance at Utility Analytics Institute, DistribuTECH, Maximo Utility Working Group (MUWG) and MaximoWorld (MW), European Utility Week, and International Maintenance Conference. In the past, he has presented at events including MUWG, MW and at a utility conference in UAE along with regional MUWG meetings in Melbourne, Australia and Dubai, UAE. He works closely with IBM’s EE&U industry team and IBM Research to ensure solutions align with industry imperatives and client initiatives.
