Gavin Brown

As an industry executive at Microsoft, Gavin drives digital business outcomes for customers across the sustainability, government both federal and state, and energy and utility sectors. Gavin works closely with partners to develop and deliver industry-based solutions that solve real world problems using all three Microsoft clouds.

Gavin joined Microsoft in January 2020, having previously held senior executive roles in the New South Wales public service for over 15 years. During this time, Gavin delivered numerous large-scale digital transformation programs and reform initiatives for the emergency services, finance and customer service clusters.

A relevant key highlight from Gavin’s tenure in Government was when he led a number of key digital reforms in the regulatory agencies in conjunction with Service NSW at the NSW Department of Customer Service.

Prior to Government, Gavin worked in the consulting, finance, construction, higher ed and media sectors. Gavin is an active mentor for the Microsoft Reactor startup and scale-up communities.

Gavin is also an active member of the Microsoft Sustainability Council and is a key member of the executive leadership team managing the recent CSIRO and Microsoft strategic partnership.
