Dr. Murray Simpson

Dr Murray Simpson an internationally renowned and highly accomplished expert in the international sustainability, climate and net zero agenda. He heads IBM’s Global Sustainability CoC business and specialises in sustainability, ESG, climate-related financial risk (& opportunities), the transition to net zero, low carbon economies, climate impacts, resilience and sustainable development.

Having led the development of international Sustainability and Net Zero technologies and teams for 25 years, Dr Simpson specialises in climate resilience strategy, impacts, adaptation, clean energy, green finance and business development.

His work bridges the gaps between business, science, policy and practice. Dr Simpson has worked as a technical, policy and implementation advisor to corporations, universities, national governments, international organisations, communities and UN agencies. He is Chair of the techUK Climate Strategy & Resilience Council, a member of the Royal Society Global Environmental Research Committee and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
