Mark Shaw

With a career spanning 28 years in Information Technology, and with the last 15 years focussed exclusively within Information Security, Mark Shaw is Microsoft New Zealand’s Security lead for the Financial Services and Retail sectors. In this role, Mark works closely with the senior information security leadership across New Zealand’s largest banking and retail organisations. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mark held the position of Technology Strategist and industry spokesperson for Palo Alto Networks and Symantec.

A born and bred Kiwi, Mark began his career in Auckland, spent nine years in London and Melbourne before making a permanent return to New Zealand (just in time for the Covid pandemic). When Mark isn’t flying the flag for Microsoft Security, he’s most likely on his road bike somewhere in the hills surrounding Auckland. A word of warning though, begin a conversation with him on cycling, and you may have trouble shutting him up.
