Connected Cloud & DC Edge 2020

Connected Cloud & Data Centre Edge 2020
“Interconnectivity, Resilience and the Hybrid Future”

Join 400 of Australia & NZ’s largest IT, compute, and cloud users; along with their leading service providers, co-los and data centre operators on our mission to enable our digital future.

Collaborate over two days of strategic shared experience, peer networking, tactical introductions and global insights – at a vital period in our region’s commercial history.

Now in our 8th year, the 2020 focus will be use cases, examples and advice from those ahead on the same journey to resilient compute, network and storage.

The challenge

Everything must be more responsive to the needs of the emerging data-driven and digital organisation. The best IT strategy however, is only as good as the connectivity, cost, performance and latency of your digital infrastructure.

This 4th industrial revolution will drive the biggest transformations in the IT infrastructure ecosystem – architected across multiple clouds, networks, data centres, and out to the intelligent edge.

Legacy and change

Everyone has an inherited history of technical debt and IT footprint that runs their business, often in conflict with experimental models to deliver new digital services.

With such pace of change, limited resources and competing strategic and operational objectives – How can you blend the two environments: service the existing, yet still experiment and be compliant?

As always, the event will host epic global and local expert speakers, several private boardroom roundtable workshops, our interactive exhibition floor – and two tracks: Cloud Centric & Hybrid Future & Future Data Centre & Edge.

2020: Introducing the Infrastructure Masons

At CCDC 2020, ADAPT will proudly help to launch the Australian chapters of Infrastructure Masons.

With a vision of uniting the builders of the digital age, the founders of Infrastructure Masons are responsible for over US $100 Billion of infrastructure projects. Established to provide infrastructure executives and technical professionals an independent forum to connect, grow and give back – so they can focus their combined experience and expertise to advance the industry, develop their fellow masons, and empower business and personal use of the infrastructure to better the economy, the environment, and society.

CCDC 2020 will have a deep focus on skills and jobs of the future.

More than ever we must focus on the personal and organisational capabilities needed for success. The days of ‘roles’ are disappearing, as future IT is about the skills to execute on next generation of platforms and clearer objective based management.

To shift to a better frameworks and cloud options, you must establish the right overarching guidance for your organisation to thrive.

But are you heard? Do you get the support you need?

What capabilities, language and skills must you to evolve to remain relevant?

How do you better align your ideas and communicate with key stakeholders?

Our Agenda will guide you to the How.

Global Guest Keynotes

Dean Nelson

ADAPT has confirmed industry legend Dean Nelson to fly to keynote and attend Connected Cloud & DC Edge 2020.

Dean has led $10B in infrastructure projects in 9 countries and has produced numerous award winning innovations in mission critical facilities and compute environments. He ran Uber’s global infrastructure for years, where his team was responsible for Metal as a Service (MaaS) technical infrastructure (data centre, compute, storage, network and infrastructure software) and business functions serving Uber’s global business. Before that, Dean worked at eBay Inc for 6 ½ years as the Vice President of Global Foundation Services, which served over 300 million active users enabling over $250Bn of enabled commerce volume annually. Dean is also Founder and Chairman of the global NFP Infrastructure Masons.

Omar Hatamleh

Joining us from Houston with a technical overview of Open Innovation techniques and lessons, Omar is the Chief Innovation Officer, Engineering at NASA. His role empowered NASA’s creative thinking to tackle moon-shot challenges, develop their capacity to explore innovative ideas and create solutions to solve future challenges, all accomplished by exploring undiscovered creative potential. He has led four annual Cross-Industry Innovation Summits in Houston to explore solutions and identify new strategies through future technology collaboration.

Omar is also the Executive Director of the Space Studies Program at International Space University.

CLOUD CENTRIC & HYBRID FUTURE

Use cases and fact-based insights to deliver resilient IT across multiple clouds

For our Chief Architects, Heads of IT and Cloud:

Most of ADAPT’s community already struggle to maintain existing operations and legacy workloads, while adapting to assess the emerging technologies demanded or introduced by the business.

Organisations may be migrating to hybrid cloud, but still need to maintain their own compute, network, storage footprint, whilst create an over-arching cloud strategy for best practice operational IT models.

To enable all this change, we must increase our ability and relevance by shortening our skills and knowledge gaps. These two days will equip and empower you to lead through this change, and connect you with your national peers to debate the best strategies and tactics for a cloud centric world.

- How do you plan resilience today for the future of IT and emerging technologies?
- Preparing for the hybrid and cloud-centric future?
- How to ensure past decisions don’t stop experimentation and innovation in the future?
- How to avoid creating tomorrow’s legacy challenges with today’s tech decisions?
- How to move existing IT workloads into the next generation of connected capabilities?

FUTURE DATA CENTRE & EDGE

Global / local data centre & engineering expertise

For our Engineering Data Centre leaders, Operators, Co-Los & Service Providers:

With 90% of our data created in the last 2 years, we expect to grow from 33 zettabytes in 2018 to 175 ZB by 2025. That’s vastly more traffic than current data centres and clouds can handle, and we have already seen more outages in the last 12 months than ever before.

The challenges to design, deploy, and scale the facilities to house all this digital infrastructure and deliver the services are huge.

With 80% reduction in energy losses already achieved, facing increasing rack density and cooling challenges, and with new operational and management complexities of hybrid IT, and edge inbound - where will future efficiencies come from?

These two days will equip you to lead through this change, and connect you with your national peers to debate the best strategies and tactics for operational efficiency at cost.
